This Week in Video Games PLAYLIST
We did almost 50 episodes of This Week in Video Games!! Sadly, a lot of them are no longer online. Here is a list of the ones that I could find though. Enjoy!
Hands on: DJ MAX on Technika
We got to sit down with developers PM Studios to talk about the new arcade only rhythm game, DJ MAX Technika. Being a fan of other rhythm games like Beat Mania and Dance Maniacs, Technika was filled with amazing music, game play and a hot pink flashy sound stage that made you feel a little more than noticeable. Already a hit in Korean arcades, here's hoping the American audience will fall in love with this game like I did.Chop Sabers!
In case you missed them at Comic Con, which I did, here are Kotobukiya's Lightsaber Chopsticks! Now, these won't be released until 2010 and no price point has been given, but I just wanted to bring them to your attention and to be on the look out come next year. I will say "yes please" to all colors and being Asian, automatically know how to use them. I bet I can catch a fly with them, in fact.First Look: Muramasa: The Demon Blade
This week we got to take a look at Vanillaware's Muramasa: The Demon Blade. This 2D adventure looks as though it jumped out of an ancient Japanese painting. Four years in the making, this Wii exclusive embodies the culture of Japanese art, mythology, traditions and even food.Muramasa prides itself on the celebration of the Japanese mythology. An abundant amount of research went into Japans history and customs, giving it its traditional look. For the US, it was decided to leave the kanji and calligraphy as well as the original Japanese voice overs with subtitles. Much of the art were actual drawings by hand and even painted by the President of Vanilla Ware. The small team has an old fashion way of making things.
First Look: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
Last week we got to check out Codemasters Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, a brutal sandbox shooter that brings the player as close to war as they'll ever want to be. Being the second iteration to the series, the first being Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, we are taken to the island of Skira off the coast of Russia. Even though this is a fictitious story line, Codemasters has done a great job at making it feel like a genuine battle.Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li DVD Release Party
This week we got to attend the Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li DVD release party put on by Capcom and I Am 8-Bit. Held at the Mountain Bar in Chinatown of Los Angeles, the open bar, free food and public welcomed event saw a fairly nice turn out. Now, it was no Street Fighter IV game release party, but fans still came to show their support for the series.
